Festive Pull Apart Bread Wreath

Festive Pull Apart Bread Wreath

Bread Wreath

Ingredients for Bread Wreath:

Frozen bread dough or canned biscuits (your choice)

1/2 cup melted butter

Pepperoni – chopped into small pieces

1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Seasonings:  1 tsp. each Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano, Basil, Garlic, Salt (mix 1/2 cheese and seasonings together in a bowl)

Diced pimento’s (optional – for further festive coloring)

Preperation for Bread Wreath:

Spray bunt cake pan with non-stick butter flavored spray.   If using pimentos arrange them around the bottom and sides of the bunt cake pan.  Sprinkle 1/4 cup of Parmesan cheese in the bottom of the cake pan after arranging pimentos.   Use remaining 1/4 cup to sprinkle in between layers below.

If using frozen bread dough, allow the dough to thaw until chilled (do not allow it to rise).  Cut the chilled bread dough into 10-12 sections, then roll each section into a ball.  If using canned biscuits, open the can and roll each biscuit into a ball.

Dip each ball into the melted butter, then lightly dip the dough into the seasonings, and gently press into the chopped pepperoni pieces.  Place the roll into the cake pan.  Repeat and arrange into the cake pan until you have made 2-3 layers of dough MAX (depending on the size of the rolls and cake pan.  Smaller rolls you can safely make 3 layers.  Larger rolls only do 2 layers.)   Cover gently with a damp cloth or with plastic rap and set aside allowing the rolls to rise app. 1-2 hours (if using biscuits, skip this step).

Once the rolls have risen, preheat oven to 400 degrees.  The rolls will take app. 20-25 minutes to fully bake.  If using biscuits, preheat the oven while you are doing your prep work and cook as soon as you finish rolling and layering.

For additional garnishing, sprinkle a little more seasonings and pepperoni’s on as soon as you remove from the oven and have flipped it onto a platter then drizzle remaining melted butter on top.

Pull apart and enjoy your festive pull apart bread wreath!  Serve with marinara or eat alone.  Perfect for the holiday season meals.
